Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy announced a tender for the construction of a 60 million imperial gallons a day (MIGD) seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant Phase 2, to be constructed in Doha, Kuwait, reports Zawya.
The tender notice posted on Central Agency for Public Tenders website informs that the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender has a bid submission deadline of 5 November 2021, although according to two sources in contact with Zawya, the submission deadline is expected to be extended.
Moreover, the sources said the ministry had prequalified 24 companies for the project, including Tecnicas Reunidas, Tecton Engineering, Alghanim International, VA Tech Wabag, Suez, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Orascom Construction, SEPCO III, Doosan Heavy Industries and Utico, according to officials from three companies.
The project is to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024.
