Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) has awarded a contract valued at KD 77.7 million ($253 million) to Khalid Ali Al Kharafi & Brothers for works related to the existing Shuwaikh Water Distribution Complex.
According to Zawya, the project includes the construction, completion, maintenance, and development of the Shuwaikh water distribution complex, along with all associated and supporting works.
Khalid Ali Al Kharafi & Brothers is a Kuwait-based contracting company involved in utility and infrastructure projects.
The ministry said the project is expected to improve the efficiency, reliability, and capacity of the water distribution system to meet increasing demand.
MEWRE added that the contract forms part of its broader programme to upgrade and modernise water infrastructure across the country.
