Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) is preparing to issue a major tender for the supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of smart water meters, Zawya reported.
The ministry has requested approval from the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) to proceed with the tender, which is expected to cover the first phase of the project involving around 300,000 smart water meters.
Officials have not provided a timeline for the tender launch or further details on subsequent phases of the deployment.
The project is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize water infrastructure and improve monitoring and management of water usage across the country.
