Spain Smart Water Summit 2023, the benchmark event in the digital transformation of the water sector, kicks off its next edition tomorrow, which will be held from September 19th to 21st at the Marriott Hotel Auditorium in the capital of the country, Madrid.

With the support of more than twenty entities from the public and private sectors, the Spain Smart Water Summit takes place this year at a key moment for the digitalization of the water sector in Spain. Implemented through a Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE), the Spanish government is providing historic funding to advance the digitalization of water cycle management in the country.

"We are convinced that Spain Smart Water Summit 2023 will be a milestone in the digitalization of the water cycle at a global level. With the support of both Public Administrations and the private sector, we will bring together the main players in the water industry and technology in an unprecedented event," says David Escobar, partner at iAgua and Smart Wayer Magazine.

"With more than 100 speakers and a strong international presence, this event will demonstrate how collaboration and innovation are transforming the future of water management around the world. We are excited to be driving this initiative that will be a game changer for the sector," he added.

The summit will bring together representatives of public administrations from all regions of Spain, as well as the private sector, who will share their experiences and best practices in efficient and sustainable water management. In a session co-organised with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and the PERTE for Water Digitalisation will take centre stage on the morning of Tuesday 19, with the participation of the Public Administration.

Moreover, in an effort to promote global collaboration, Spain Smart Water Summit 2023 will feature specific sessions that will bring together water experts and professionals from Asia and Latin America, thanks to two sessions co-organised with ICEX Spain Export and Investment, and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the World Bank, respectively, in which they will explore the similarities and differences in water management approaches in various parts of the world, fostering an exchange of knowledge and best practices at an international level.

The three-day event will also feature prestigious experts distributed in more than fifteen sessions dedicated to the most cutting-edge technological advances in the water industry such as numerical modelling, BIM technology, sensors, remote control, digital twins, Internet of Things (IoT) or artificial intelligence (AI), solutions that are converging in water management today and that are creating a new paradigm focused on data.

With strong institutional support, the active participation of Public Administrations and the private sector, as well as the collaboration of international experts from Asia and Latin America, Spain Smar Water Summit reaffirms, more than ever, its commitment to innovation and sustainability in water management. Alejandro Maceira, founder and director of iAgua and Smart Water Magazine invites you to "be part of this transformative event, join this wave of innovation and work together to build a future in which water, the source of all life, is managed with the wisdom and efficiency that the digital era can provide".

Over the next three days, this unprecedented event will hold over twenty sessions in two simultaneous rooms, hosting various representatives of the public administration and private businesses. It will also be the perfect setting for networking, with a specific area for "one-to-one" meetings between the main decision-makers of Spanish and international administrations.
