Oman’s Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP) has won a contract valued at RO 125 million (approximately $325 million) for the construction of the Ghubrah 3 desalination plant, reports Zawya.
The facility has a projected daily production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters, bolstering the nation's water security and fostering sustainable infrastructure.
Expected to become Oman's largest desalination plant, Ghubrah 3 sprawls over 70.4 thousand square meters of land. The plant is expected to commence operations during the first quarter of 2027, and will be complemented by associated projects, including a 45,000 cubic meter potable water reservoir.
"The Ghubrah 3 desalination plant exemplifies our dedication to ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply for our communities," said Eng Abdulaziz bin Said al Shidhani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nama Power and Water Procurement Company.

The Capital Desalination Company, comprising GS Inima, Jemaih Energy, and Sogex Company, will lead the construction of the Ghubrah 3 desalination plant.
