The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Bisha Drinking Water Networks project (Contract 1), worth $130 million and situated in the Bisha Governorate, Asir Region, is anticipated to be awarded by Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to sources close to NWC reports Zawya.
The source told Zawya: “The tender for the EPC contract was issued on 8 June 2023 and the bid submission is scheduled on 23 July 2023. The EPC contract is expected to be awarded in the first week of October 2023.”
The project entails the construction, supply, installation, and testing of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes ranging from 110 to 200 inches in diameter, spanning a total length of 95 km. Additionally, ductile pipes with diameters ranging from 300 to 800 inches will be installed, covering a distance of 20 km.
According to the source, the project is expected to be finished by the third quarter of 2026. The source also provided an estimated project cost of $130 million.
