The pipeline will link the desalination plant in Oxagon to the town of Gayal in Tabuk, Arab News informed.

The project will extend 100 kilometers and have a diameter of 2 meters.

According to Arab News, the contractors include Saudi Al-Ayuni Investment & Contracting Co., Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting Co., Al-Yamama Co., Nesma Group and Saudi Services for Electromechanic Works. Other bidders include: Lebanon's CAT group, Egypt's Enppi, China's Sinopec and Power China.

The water transmission project includes the installation of a pumping station, storage tanks and water tunnels.

Nearly a dozen water infrastructure projects are planned for NEOM, including the water transmission scheme, with a total estimated budget of around $2 billion.
