Nordic Capital has reached an agreement to acquire Flowa Technology AB, a provider of engineered water infrastructure solutions in the UK and Nordic countries, from Vestum AB, a Swedish industrial services and product group.
Flowa operates through a group of specialist subsidiaries, offering solutions, monitoring technology, and engineering services for water and wastewater infrastructure. The company provides over 3,000 submersible and surface-mounted pumps, proprietary monitoring systems, and engineering services, supporting utilities in responding to infrastructure disruptions and managing environmental risks.
The acquisition comes at a time when European water and wastewater infrastructure faces increasing demands. In the UK, utilities are expected to spend more than GBP 100 billion on infrastructure upgrades in the upcoming regulatory cycle, roughly double the previous period. Flowa’s services are aimed at supporting these upgrades and providing rapid response during infrastructure failures.
Flowa has reported consistent growth in recent years, driven by both organic expansion and acquisitions. Nordic Capital plans to work with Flowa’s management team to invest in service capabilities, technology, and geographic reach.
Andreas Näsvik, Partner at Nordic Capital Advisors, highlighted the company’s role in preventing environmental incidents and supporting utilities during the expected investment cycle. Simon Göthberg, CEO of Flowa, said the investment would enable the company to accelerate growth and further develop its services for water utilities and infrastructure operators.
