The National Water Company (NWC) has announced the completion of two major water infrastructure projects in the Al Bayan district of Riyadh, as well as a separate project in Al Kharj Governorate, with a combined value exceeding SAR 114 million.
The projects in the Al Bayan district, located in eastern Riyadh, involved the expansion of main and secondary water pipelines totaling more than 229 kilometers. With a total cost of over SAR 101 million, these initiatives are expected to supply potable water to more than 64,000 residents. According to NWC, the developments are part of a broader integrated plan to enhance water service coverage and improve quality of life for residents, particularly amid the capital city's ongoing urban growth.
In a separate announcement, NWC confirmed the completion of a SAR 13 million water network project in Al Kharj Governorate, situated south of the Riyadh Region. The project involved laying over 19 kilometers of pipelines to deliver drinking water to more than 14,000 residents across 10 districts, including Al Ghadeer, Al Zaher, Al Faisaliah, and Al Rayyan, among others.
The company stated that both projects support its long-term strategy to improve operational efficiency and water sustainability. These initiatives are aligned with the objectives of the National Transformation Program (NTP) and the broader Vision 2030 framework, which aims to modernize infrastructure and improve service delivery across the Kingdom.
NWC emphasized its continued commitment to implementing high-quality water and sanitation infrastructure projects at an accelerated pace to meet increasing demand and support the needs of a growing population.
