Salalah Sanitary Drainage Services Company has signed a contract for the construction, operation and delivery of the sewerage network in Sahlanoot area in Salalah for US$117.3 million (OMR45 million), reports Utilities Middle East.

This action rests on the government’s instructions to encourage more private sector investment in Oman’s infrastructure, principally in the water sector and particularly in sanitation.

The sewage network will be implemented in 30 months and the company will have a 15-year period of operation and maintenance.

During the 2-and-a-half-year period, the company will construct the main pumping station as well as the network and its accessories. Once it is completed the company will operate it and maintain it for 15 years.
