Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has announced the commencement of pre-qualification submissions for the development of Hidd Independent Water Project (Hidd IWP), reports Saudi Gulf Projects.

According to a statement released by EWA, the project will deliver a net capacity of 60 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of potable water and will be executed under a build, own, and operate (BOO) framework.

The following companies have submitted applications for the pre-qualification phase:

  1. Alghanim International
  2. TAQA Group
  3. GS Inima
  4. Gulf Investment Corporation
  5. Acwa Power
  6. Lamar Holding
  7. Al Jomaih Energy and Water Company

This initiative is a part of Bahrain’s efforts to enhance its water infrastructure in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 master plan, ensuring it meets the growing demand for water.
