PROINVERSION (The Private Investment Promotion Agency of Peru) is promoting the development of 13 water and sanitation project worth more than US$ 1.55 billion. The projects will benefit 4.8 million people. PROINVERSION will award 9 projects for a total amount of approximately US$ 1.3 billion during 2023-2024, according to a press release launched by the Agency.
The nine projects will be located in 12 regions in Peru: Piura, Cajamarca, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Lima, Ica, Moquegua, Cusco, Junín, San Martín, Loreto and Madre de Dios. The projects will be promoted through the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) modality.
The investment required by 2026 to contribute to achieving universal access to sanitation services in Peru is approximately S/ 41,000 million, according to the sector.
The water and sanitation projects that are projected to be awarded by 2024 are: PTAR Puerto Maldonado to be awarded in 2023 (US$ 86 million), Headworks - Phase 1 (US$ 340 million), PTAR Cusco (US$ 44 million), PTAR Chincha (US$ 70), PTAR Cajamarca (US$ 56 million), PTAR Huancayo (US$ 172 million), PTAR Tarapoto (US$ 106 million), Desalination Plant Ilo (US$ 110 million) and PTAR Trujillo (US$ 312 million).
