  • Saudi Arabia’s Marafiq and SWCC complete $2.65 million dollar water project

About the entity

Saudi Arabia’s Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq) and the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) have completed a water interconnection initiative in collaboration, reports ZAWYA.

A statement to the Saudi stock exchange released by Marafiq on Thursday revealed that the project will link a two-way water transmission line to supply Yanbu Industrial City with desalinated water.

The statement also said that the project cost was 9.93 million Saudi riyals ($2.65 million), with the two companies equally sharing the costs.

The project holds significant benefits for both entities, facilitating the transfer of surplus water quantities and optimising asset utilisation.

These efforts will contribute to future returns, reinforcing the project’s importance.
