Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) is preparing to award the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for its Al Suwayriqiyah and Al Aqiliyah Water Networks and Lines, Main Pumping Station, and Substation Project in the Mahd governorate by the second quarter of 2025, reports Zawya.
The project, which was tendered on February 19, 2025, had a bid submission deadline of March 25, 2025. According to a source familiar with the project, the contract is expected to be awarded in May 2025, with completion slated for the third quarter of 2028. The estimated cost of the project is around $220 million.
The scope of the project includes the installation of ductile iron water pipelines, ranging in diameter from 200 mm to 300 mm, over a total length of 580 meters. It also involves the construction of concrete chambers for control, lock, air, and washing valves. In addition, around 97.66 kilometers of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) water lines, with diameters between 110 mm and 400 mm, will be laid, along with the installation of valve rooms, gate lock valves, and fire extinguishers. The contract further includes the construction of two ground storage tanks, each with a capacity of 500 cubic meters, as well as two main pumping stations, one subsidiary station, and an Ashiyab station.
