Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) is anticipated to award construction contracts for three major water and sewage infrastructure projects by the end of the third quarter of 2025, according to Zawya.
The projects, located in Makkah, Al-Baha, and Hail provinces, are part of ongoing efforts to expand and upgrade the Kingdom’s water and wastewater networks.
In Rabigh, Makkah province, the NWC released a tender on 22 May 2025 for the Rabigh Sewage Network and Pumping Stations Extension Project. Bids were due by 26 June 2025, and the contract award is expected in September 2025. The project includes the installation of approximately 36 kilometers of sewage slope networks, with pipe diameters ranging from 200 mm to 800 mm. It also covers the civil, mechanical, and electrical works required to complete three lifting stations. Completion is targeted for the third quarter of 2027.
In Al-Baha province, the company plans to award the construction contract for Phase 2 of the Al-Makhwah Governorate Sewage Networks project. The tender was issued on 25 May 2025, with final bids submitted by 22 June 2025. The scope involves the construction and completion of sewage networks in the Al-Makhwah Governorate. Contract award is similarly anticipated in September 2025, with project completion slated for Q3 2027.
Additionally, in the Hail region, NWC is expected to award Contract No. 5 of the Hail Region Water Networks Construction Project. The tender was released on 22 May 2025, with a submission deadline of 19 June 2025. The project encompasses the construction of approximately 105 kilometers of water network lines with diameters ranging from 100 mm to 400 mm, the installation of a water tank, and the construction of two pumping stations. Completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
