Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) is expected to award a major contract to extend the sewerage network in Riyadh’s Al-Munisiyah neighborhood during the first quarter of 2025, a source aware of the details told Zawya Projects.
The project, valued at an estimated $40 million, aims to enhance the area’s sewage infrastructure by constructing an expanded network of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. The contract is anticipated to be awarded in February 2025, with project completion projected for the second quarter of 2026.
This infrastructure upgrade involves laying approximately 18.5 kilometers of sewerage pipes with diameters ranging from 200 mm to 500 mm. The project specifications also include a 50-meter horizontal bore and circular boreholes with diameters of 1.2 meters and depths reaching up to 6 meters to accommodate specific engineering requirements.
The tender for the project was issued by NWC in early August 2024, and the deadline for bid submissions closed on 22 October 2024.
