About the entity

The Saudi Water Partnership Company, formally known as the Water & Electricity Company (WEC), has invited expression of interest (“EOI”) for the development of a new Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP), namely Madinah 3 ISTP.

Madinah 3 ISTP, which will be built in the city of Madinah in western Saudi Arabia, will have a total treatment capacity of 375,000 m3/day.

SWPC will conduct a competitive process to select a developer or developer consortium for the development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, implementation, ownership, operation, maintenance and transfer of the sewage treatment plant together with associated infrastructure and facilities.

Under a 25-year Sewage Treatment Agreement (“STA”) with SWPC, the selected firm will design the project and will treat the entire sewage capacity supplied by SWPC.

The Saudi Water Partnership Company has said interested parties should express their interest to participate in the tender process by no later than 4 February 2020.
