More than six consortia have expressed interest in the tender issued by the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) for the establishment and operation of five solar power and water desalination plants along the North Coast of Egypt, reports Zawya.
The EEHC's tender falls under the build-own-operate (BOO) framework, with a contract duration of 25 years, as disclosed by a government official in a statement to Asharq Business on September 7th.
The deadline for the submission of bids is set for September 27th.
Among the prominent consortia participating in the tender are AquaPower, Scatec, Toyota, Engie, Amea Power, and Aqualia, according to the same source.
