SEWA completes first phase of water Control and Monitoring System
Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority has completed the first phase of a water control and monitoring system project in Sharjah.
According to the authority, the project supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to improve service quality and adopt advanced technologies.
The first phase connected 18 desalination and pumping stations across Sharjah, along with transmission lines and distribution networks, to a unified operational platform. The system enables real time monitoring and centralised data management through a control centre.
Engineer Faisal Al Sarkal, Director of the Water Department at SEWA, said the platform provides an integrated view of water production, transmission, and distribution. He stated that this supports operational efficiency, reliability, and faster decision making.
The second phase is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year and is expected to be completed by early 2028. It will introduce advanced analytics and artificial intelligence tools aimed at strengthening operational management, network sustainability, and overall performance.
