SWPC issues request for qualification for Rayis-Rabigh IWTP project

Earlier this week, the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) issued the Request for Qualification (RFQ) tender for the Rayis-Rabigh water transmission pipeline (IWTP) project.

The 900,000 cubic metres per day (m3/day) project is planned to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024.

In August 2021, the SWPC had requested expressions of interest (EOI) for the Rayis – Rabigh Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP), with a transmission capacity up to 900,000 cubic meters per day, and a length of 100 km. The SWPC had announced it would conduct a competitive process to select a company or consortium to develop the IWTP using a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model. The company in charge of the project will provide the transmission capacity to SWPC under a Water Transmission Agreement, for a term that is expected be up to 35 years.
