TAQA Water Solutions, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-listed TAQA, has awarded a wastewater management contract valued at AED 150 million ($40.84 million) to Gulf Contractors Company, reports Zawya.
The project, which was announced at the World Utilities Congress, will serve four communities in Abu Dhabi.
The contract involves the construction of a 9.5-kilometre gravity-driven wastewater line and the decommissioning of multiple pumping stations. This upgrade is expected to reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions. Once completed, the project will boost the hydraulic capacity to 120,000 cubic metres per day, meeting the needs of expanding areas such as Al Bahia, Al Sader, Al Shaliela, and Taweelah.
TAQA Water Solutions is responsible for wastewater collection, treatment, and reuse across Abu Dhabi, playing a key role in the emirate's water management infrastructure.
