Tetra Tech, Inc., a global leader in high-end consulting and engineering services, announced it has been awarded a contract by Orange County Utilities (OCU) in Florida to provide engineering design and technical services for a major expansion of the Eastern Water Reclamation Facility (EWRF). Located just outside Orlando, the EWRF serves a 451-square-mile area and plays a key role in the region’s wastewater management.
The project will support Orange County’s efforts to manage increasing wastewater flows driven by population growth and urban development. Tetra Tech’s engineers and specialists will deliver advanced wastewater treatment solutions designed to enhance operational performance, improve energy efficiency, and increase the system’s overall resilience. As part of the contract, the company will conduct advanced modelling and prepare design specifications aimed at significantly increasing the treatment capacity at the facility.
“For almost 20 years, Tetra Tech has provided Orange County Utilities with innovative and efficient water and wastewater infrastructure solutions,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO. “We look forward to continuing to use our Leading with Science® approach to support the rapid growth in Orange County and provide its customers with high quality and resilient water supplies.”
The project represents a continuation of Tetra Tech’s long-standing relationship with OCU and underscores its expertise in sustainable water infrastructure. As communities across Florida face growing demand and environmental challenges, this expansion is expected to play a critical role in supporting regional growth and maintaining high standards for water quality and environmental stewardship.
