Thames Water Utilities Limited has issued a procurement notice for the supply, installation and maintenance of data logging and leak detection equipment across its clean water network, with an estimated total value of £139.8 million including VAT.
Published on 8 May 2026, the tender establishes a framework covering an initial three-year term from October 2026, with extension options that could stretch the contract to a maximum of eight years. Thames Water is a privately owned utility serving London and South East England.
The procurement is divided into three lots:
- Lot 1 covers the supply of flow and pressure data loggers, including fixed and non-fixed variants and incident loggers, with an estimated value of £19.6 million.
- Lot 2, the largest at £88.2 million, covers fixed and non-fixed acoustic data loggers, hydrophones and portable acoustic correlators for leak detection purposes.
- Lot 3, valued at £32.2 million, focuses on the installation, maintenance and repair of all data logger types across the network.
Under the competitive flexible procedure, suppliers must first pass a pre-qualification (PSQ) stage before being invited to submit a full proposal via an Invitation to Negotiate. Thames Water reserves the right to refine the award criteria, and submitted tenders will be subject to negotiation before final award. Call-off contracts within the framework will also be awarded with competition rather than as direct awards.
Suppliers with enquiries must contact Thames Water by 1 June 2026 at 5:00pm GMT, with the PSQ submission deadline set for 8 June 2026 at 10:00am GMT. Contract award is expected by 29 September 2026. Interested parties can request access via the official participation form.
