About the entity

Ben Arous Governorate, located in the northeast of Tunisia, has put out a tender for a new wastewater treatment plant for the Khelidia Municipality, reports ESI Africa.

The National Sanitation Office (ONAS) of Tunisia will use part of the proceeds of loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) to finance the construction of a wastewater plant in the Khelidia commune in the Ben Arous Governate.

The invitation to tender follows the General Procurement Notice for the project, which was published on the EBRD website on 4 February 2022.

According to the information on the EBRD website, the planned works consist of the study, the execution of the works and the commissioning of the water treatment plant in Khelidia as well as the treated water transfer system.

The services under this contract include the following tasks:

  • The carrying out of civil engineering works relating to the works of the waste treatment plant with treatment capacity: 2,427 m3/d as well as the treated wastewater transfer system;
  • The supply, installation and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, automation of the wastewater treatment plant;
  • The commissioning of all the installations and their commissioning;
  • The operation of the waste treatment plant during the observation period.

Companies and consortia have until April 12th 2022 to submit their bids.
