Uniwater has signed an agreement to acquire Ramson, a leading specialist in filtration solutions for drinking water and industrial liquid treatment, according to a company press release. This strategic acquisition strengthens Uniwater’s capabilities in advanced water treatment, including membrane technology and the removal of PFAS and heavy metals.
Ramson has built a strong reputation in Sweden, providing niche solutions for both industrial and municipal clients. The company specializes in ultrafiltration and nanofiltration technologies, critical for addressing increasing water treatment demands. With this acquisition, Uniwater aims to enhance its expertise and expand its offerings to meet future challenges in water purification.
“We see great opportunities with this strategic acquisition. I am convinced that it will bring synergies that not only strengthen our position within the water treatment segment but also enable opportunities for collaboration and innovation in our group. Uniwater continues to pursue an ambitious agenda to build water infrastructure of the future in all communities where we operate. Ramson’s expertise in managing PFAS is a critical competence to ensure clean drinking water today and tomorrow,” said Olof Nordin, Business Area Director for Uniwater Treatment.
Ramson has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by rising demand for water treatment solutions, particularly for PFAS elimination. While historically serving primarily industrial clients, the company has expanded its municipal and regional customer base since 2015, now accounting for 40% of its business. Additionally, Ramson has transitioned from being a product supplier to delivering complete water treatment solutions.
Anders Käck, who took over as CEO of Ramson in late 2024, expressed optimism about joining Uniwater. “The companies in Uniwater group are very interesting to us, and I look forward to both synergies and cooperation. I see great potential in gaining access to a larger network, to exchange experiences and technical knowledge”, he said.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025. This acquisition aligns with Uniwater’s long-term strategy to develop sustainable water infrastructure for the future.
