As part of the Autodesk Water Webinar Series, Smart Water Magazine and Autodesk Water are excited to present Modelling innovative Blue-Green approaches to stormwater management. This session, to take place on Wednesday, November 27 at 11:00 GMT / 12:00 CET, will highlight the innovative £76 million Mansfield Sustainable Flood Resilience project, the largest retrofit of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in the UK. The project addresses the growing threat of surface water flooding through nature-based solutions such as rain gardens, bioswales, and detention basins, benefiting 90,000 residents while promoting biodiversity and enhancing urban spaces.

As lead design partner for Severn Trent, AECOM developed a catchment-wide strategy and applied advanced hydraulic modeling tools like InfoWorks ICM to design and deploy SuDS efficiently. This initiative redefines urban water management, showcasing a shift from conventional engineering methods to sustainable blue-green infrastructure.

Meet the Speakers

This webinar features a panel of experts who played a pivotal role in delivering this groundbreaking project, including Luke C. Johnson, Principal Consultant at AECOM, Hannah Howe, Principal Consultant & Team Leader at AECOM, and Paul Campbell, Solutions Engineer at Autodesk.

Why attend

This session offers a unique opportunity to explore how cutting-edge blue-green infrastructure is transforming urban flood resilience, with the support of advanced tools like InfoWorks ICM by Autodesk. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the challenges and successes of implementing nature-based solutions at scale, while learning practical strategies for leveraging powerful modeling tools to optimize project outcomes. Participants can obtain a Certificate of Attendance for a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit.
