Global trenchless water and sewer infrastructure specialist Vortex Companies has announced two acquisitions in April 2026, reinforcing its capabilities across potable water services and trenchless rehabilitation technologies worldwide.
The most recent transaction involves the acquisition of Mainlining America LLC, aimed at expanding Vortex Water’s turnkey service offering in the United States. The deal enhances the company’s ability to deliver integrated watermain rehabilitation and replacement solutions, while increasing its operational presence, particularly along the East Coast.
Mainlining contributes more than 70 years of experience in pipe rehabilitation and trenchless construction, including large-diameter lining, pipe bursting, and open-cut replacement. Its incorporation into Vortex Water is expected to strengthen in-house project execution from design through restoration.
“This acquisition is a major step forward in our strategy to build the most comprehensive and capable trenchless water platform in the industry,” said Mike Vellano, CEO of Vortex Companies.
Earlier in the month, Vortex also expanded its manufacturing and technology base through its subsidiary United Felts, which acquired BKP Berolina Polyester GmbH & Co. KG. Based in Germany, BKP is recognised for its Berolina-Liner System and expertise in advanced composite and UV-cured CIPP liner technologies.
According to Vellano, “BKP is one of the most respected names in UV CIPP liner technology, and this acquisition is an important step not only in the continued growth of United Felts, but for Vortex as a whole.”
The integration combines United Felts’ manufacturing scale with BKP’s technical specialisation, broadening the range of solutions available for trenchless rehabilitation projects globally. For Thomas Christiansen, Group CEO of BKP, the move supports further innovation and market reach, while maintaining a focus on high-quality solutions.
Together, the acquisitions highlight Vortex’s strategy to scale its platform across the water value chain, combining field services, advanced materials, and manufacturing to address growing infrastructure challenges internationally.
