Xylem, a leading firm in developing innovative water solutions through smart technology, officially inaugurated a manufacturing plant in Egypt for water pumps, according to Zawya.
The facility was opened on Monday and is a joint venture between Xylem and Egyptian Tiba Manzalawi Group.
Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, in charge of inaugurating the plant on Monday, said in a statement that the facility will manufacture split-case centrifugal pumps and end suction pumps in the first phase, which involved an investment of 300 million Egyptian pounds ($9.7 million).
The statement also mentioned that the facility’s production capacity is projected to range between 2,000 and 4,000 water pumps annually. The plant covers a total area of 9,000 square metres (sqm), and the first phase occupies 4,000 sqm.
