CDP has included the Group in its 2018 A List for the third year in succession, rewarding SUEZ’s strategy and action in the fight against climate change and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. SUEZ is the only French company in the environmental services sector to be recognised as a major player in the fight against climate change.
SUEZ joins the 2018 CDP A List...
The CDP extra-financial rating agency, an international non-profit organisation formerly called the “Carbon Disclosure Project”, analysed SUEZ’s results in comparison with the climate-related targets that the Group has set itself:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030,
- Promote the circular economic model and material recycling, recovery and reuse,
- Adapt to the consequences of climate change on water.
CDP conducts an annual questionnaire-based campaign to collect information from businesses, in particular related to their greenhouse gas emissions. This data is then sent to more than 650 investors holding $87,000 billion of capital. More than 7,000 businesses responded to the CDP questionnaire in 2018, up 11% on the preceding year. The companies that publish this information now represent more than 50% of worldwide market capitalization. Only 136 businesses worldwide are included in the CDP’s 2018 A List.
... and is nominated as a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader
In 2018, SUEZ was also recognised for its consideration of climate-related issues in relations with customers in industry and suppliers. This distinction reflects SUEZ’s capacity to invite its partners to join a low-carbon initiative.
