TecnoConverting Engineering has been involved in the design and manufacture of tanks for a physico-chemical treatment facility within a seawater desalination plant in the Emirates which comprises two lines, with a total treatment flow rate of 200 m³/h.
Each of the lines of treatment comprises a coagulation and flocculation tank with a volume of 43 m3, divided into 3 mixing chambers with different gradients to ensure the reagents are homogenised and react correctly, and a compact settling tank, with a volume of 35 m3, using TecnoTec H80 lamellar technology, which ensures the maximum efficiency of sludge settling processes. In addition to supplying the tanks for the water line, 3 compact sludge thickeners with a diameter of 3.5 m and a capacity of 30 m3 have been supplied.
Taking into account the salinity of the waste effluent to be treated, the tanks for the water treatment line have been made of polypropylene and the mixing system has been made of super duplex stainless steel. We chose the TecnoTec H80 lamella made of polypropylene, which is NSF-Std61 certified for use with drinking water. The thickeners have been made of GFRP.
