On 30 June, TAIF ISTP (Saudi Arabia), built by Tedagua and Tawzea, received the visit of His Excellency Eng. Khaled Alqureshi, CEO of Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) with the aim of visiting the progress of the work.

Tedagua and Tawzea are building a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 100,000 m3/day in the city of Taif. The project is of great strategic importance as it will be the first of its kind to come into operation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The facility has a conventional pre-treatment and primary treatment, as well as a secondary treatment comprising of an SBR with a continuous flow, WATERLEAU's Lucas® technology, a tertiary filtration and disinfection treatment and a sludge treatment with anaerobic digestion. It also has a solar drying system and a biogas cogeneration system, which helps to increase the plant's energy efficiency and reduce its energy footprint.

The plant, which is currently in the pre-commissioning phase, will be ready for operation in the last quarter of this year.

The visit of the CEO of SWPC, H.E. Eng. Khaled Alqureshi, was completed with the signing by Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios and Tawzea, as concessionary companies, and the office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, of a Memorandum of Understanding to participate in the "SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE". This initiative, which will be implemented by Tedagua and Tawzea, will create a green space around the plant covering 211,000 m2, will use the treated water for the plant for irrigation and will complete the company's mission to promote the environment and the sustainable use of resources.
