The Water Environment Federation is a not-for-profit association that provides technical education and training for thousands of water quality professionals who clean water and return it safely to the environment.

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is pleased to announce the selection of Walter Marlowe, P.E., CAE as its new Executive Director.

Marlowe brings extensive, high-level experience in association leadership and the areas of civil engineering, construction, certification, and science to the WEF position, including tenure as a Director at the American Society of Civil Engineers.

“The Board of Trustees is excited to welcome Walt to the WEF family,” said Tom Kunetz, WEF President. “Walt has a proven track record as an exemplary organizational leader. His vision, talent for collaboration and partnerships, and focus on member value will ensure that WEF continues to be a leader in providing outstanding service to our members and global water professionals. We look forward to working with him as we continue on our exciting journey.”

Marlowe is currently the Executive Director of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and was previously the Executive Director of the Construction Specifications Institute and the Executive Director of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. He has a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Engineering and an MBA from George Washington University.
