New webinar: Rethinking network design in InfoWorks ICM with Autodesk Water

Designing drainage networks often requires balancing multiple hydraulic and geometric constraints while working within tight project timelines. Preliminary pipe sizing in particular can be a complex and sometimes opaque process, with many tools offering limited insight into how design decisions are reached.

To address these challenges, Autodesk Water is hosting a new webinar titled: "Discover the new game-changing Network Design in InfoWorks ICM", focused on the latest Network Design capabilities in InfoWorks ICM. As part of the Autodesk Water Webinar Series, the session, taking place on Thursday, 23 April 2026 at 9 am BST / 10 am CEST, will explore how engineers can move from “black box” approaches to more transparent and defensible design workflows.

Discover the new game-changing Network Design in InfoWorks ICM

The session will begin with a welcome from Olivia Tempest, Editor in Chief of Smart Water Magazine, followed by an introduction by Hasanain Al-Naimi, Regional Head of Autodesk Water Infrastructure for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. The live demo will then be delivered by Samer Muhandes, Senior Product Manager – InfoWorks ICM at Autodesk Water, and Ahmed Elsayed Younes, Technical Solutions Engineer – EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) at Autodesk Water, before concluding with an interactive Q&A session where participants can engage directly with the speakers.

In this upcoming event, Samer Muhandes, PhD, in conversation with Ahmed Elsayed Younes, will demonstrate how InfoWorks ICM applies a rule-based methodology to automate pipe sizing and invert level definition. At the same time, engineers retain control through configurable design constraints and penalty weightings that help steer outcomes.

The webinar will include a live demonstration of automated upstream to downstream design runs, showing how users can iterate rapidly and reduce preliminary design time from hours or days to just minutes. Attendees will also be introduced to detailed design reports that make each decision traceable, auditable and easy to explain.

Attendance certificates will be provided to all participants as proof of continuing professional development.
