Cardno Asia Pacific Region CEO, Jamie Alonso has appointed Andrew Spinks to the position of National Water & Environment Business Leader who will be based in the New South Wales office. As the National Water & Environment Business Leader, Andrew will lead the team in leveraging the strong brand, skilled people and great capability Cardno has to offer. His mandate is to build a robust and engaged water and environment practice of the highest standards.
Andrew has over 12 years of broad experience in management and leadership roles, working primarily in the Water, Environment and Spatial sector. Most recently, Andrew led the NSW Water and Environment business for the past five years at Jacobs, an international technical professional services firm. Leveraging off his extensive operational experience, he provided leadership and support across the ANZ business. Moreover, Andrew was strongly engaged in project delivery and played role in leading major pursuits and opportunities.
Andrew is a strong believer in the importance and power of inclusion in the workplace, and this was reflected in his role as ANZ Executive Sponsor for the Jacobs PRISM (LGBTI employee network group). He remains committed to further foster this culture throughout the National Water & Environment team and Cardno more generally.
Andrew holds a Doctor of Philosophy, Zoology from University of Cape Town, and has over 20 years of experience as an environmental planner and project manager, delivering complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in both South Africa and Australia.
