Ecolab, the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services, discussed the role of smart water management in enabling business resilience and advancing carbon goals, with India targeting net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. In 2020, Ecolab’s smart water management solutions helped Indian corporations save more than 15.8 billion litres of water, equivalent to the amount of drinking water used by Pune for 3 years. Additionally, Ecolab’s System Assurance Center, based in Pune, monitors more than 36,000 customer systems in more than 125 countries, and in 2020, helped customers save 780 billion litres of water, globally.

The session outlined best practices for organizations looking to make progress on ambitious water and climate goals, including a demonstration on the Ecolab Smart Water Navigator, a free, online tool that helps businesses create comprehensive, context-based plans and better engage and support the teams responsible for driving smart water management.

Ecolab recently partnered with the largest vaccine manufacturer in India to enable remote monitoring of their HVAC and water management systems, helping uphold high-quality vaccine manufacturing standards and advancing energy savings, resulitng in cost savings of INR 37 Lakhs from 2019 - 2021. Ecolab also worked with India-based Tata Steel to reduce water consumption by 30% and save INR 3.73 crores over a three-year period.
Ecolab’s various water management solutions such as the Smart Water Navigator are available to industrial businesses in India and can help them gauge the effectiveness of their water management plans and improve their water and carbon footprint.
