Fluence Corporation (ASX:FLC) is pleased to announce an important strategic milestone having successfully commissioned its first MABR installation in the newly constructed city of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The Plant is based on a SUBRE design (MABR modules installed in concrete basins) which enables smart MABR solutions to be deployed at the core of highly economical plants potentially serving up to hundreds of thousands of people. The onsite engineering work was performed by Fluence’s partner Xwater Technology Co., Ltd. (Xwater), with Fluence supplying the MABR portion. The automated plant is designed to be operated remotely, avoiding the need for onsite personnel.
Work continues on a second phase of this plant and a second SUBRE plant nearby and once completed later this year, the two plants will have a combined capacity to meet the wastewater treatment needs of 100,000 people.
Commenting on these achievements, Fluence Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Irving said: “This state‐of‐the‐art plant in the middle of a brand‐new city is a wonderful showcase for Fluence’s top‐quality MABR technology. The project will help us progress discussions onadditional projects in Cambodia and further raise our profile throughout Asia. We are very proud of the Fluence team who persevered through a serious Covid‐19 outbreak in Cambodia to commission this plant on time. We are also very pleased to work with our local partner Xwater and look forward to undertaking further projects together in the region.”
