The World Bank NewIBNET is pleased to announce the launch of its 2023 data drive, inviting water and sanitation utilities to become members of the NewIBNET. Members will have access to a variety of Communities of Practice on relevant topics for utilities as well as other data services provided by the platform. The NewIBNET is a global tool to help utilities enhance their decision-making using their own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Management Practice Indicators (MPIs).
The data drive will collect 2022 data on KPIs and Management Practices, building a global database of water and sanitation KPIs and MPIs, but most importantly, transforming that data into knowledge, helping utilities move from data to action. This new data drive builds on the successful pilot supported by the global and independent technology and innovation consultancy company Isle Utilities that collected KPIs and MPIs for more than 90 utilities around the world, which was key to help develop and test the initial version of the NewIBNET.
Blanca Antizar, Director at Isle Utilities, Global said: “NewIBNET allows water and sanitation utilities to take charge of their performance, benchmarking themselves, by entering their performance and management data, and connecting with and learning from others. I would like to encourage global utilities to participate in the NEW IBNET data driven global network, which is a straightforward and user-friendly process.”
This new data drive expects to mobilize data from 2022 for at least 500 utilities around the world
By becoming IBNET members, utilities will also gain access to a range of tools, services, and resources, including data visualization tools, capacity-building programs, and opportunities to engage and share experiences with utilities all over the world, as part of the NewIBNET Community.
NewIBNET is launching its data drive in close collaboration with partners, including: the International Association of Water Supply Companies in the Danube River Catchment Area (IAWD), the Eastern and Southern African Water and Sanitation Regulators Association (ESAWAS), Isle Utilities, and the International Federation of Private Water Operators, AQUAFed, among others.
This new data drive expects to mobilize data from 2022 for at least 500 utilities around the world. We encourage utilities to become part of this global effort.
We invite other potential interested organizations to join us as partners in this data drive. With support from partners and users, the IBNET has been transformed into THE place where utilities can go and use their data, share their data and connect and learn from each other.
