West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) has made significant progress on the construction of its CAMANA (Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas) Water Reclamation Facility, which is now 83% complete as of the last quarter of 2024.
This Php 10.5-billion (about USD 179 million) facility, located in Maypajo, Caloocan City, is poised to enhance sewerage services in South Caloocan, Malabon, and Navotas by treating up to 205 million liters of wastewater daily. Once operational, it will serve approximately 1.2 million Maynilad customers, contributing to the cleanup of Manila Bay and improving waterway health in the area.
Scheduled for completion in 2025, the CAMANA Water Reclamation Facility will comply with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) Water Quality Guidelines and General Effluent Standards of 2016 (DAO 2016-08), as amended by DAO 2021-19. It will feature the advanced Modified Ludzack-Ettinger (MLE)-Conventional Activated Sludge technology to effectively remove pollutants from wastewater before safely discharging it into the Maypajo Creek, which flows into Manila Bay.
To complement this facility, Maynilad is laying 77 kilometers of sewer pipelines to collect wastewater from households and establishments in the three cities and convey it to the treatment plant.

The CAMANA facility is part of Maynilad’s broader initiative to bolster its wastewater management capacity. Currently, the company operates 23 wastewater treatment facilities with a combined daily capacity of 684 million liters of wastewater per day.
