Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Phu My Town has been facing growing environmental challenges due to rapid development of new residential areas, industrial zones and sea ports. Untreated wastewater from industrial zones and residential areas has strained local infrastructure, impacting both the quality of life for residents and the region’s sustainable development. The construction of this modern wastewater treatment plant is a critical solution to these challenges, helping to protect the environment and support economic growth.

We are confident that this plant will address the urgent wastewater management needs of our community and make a significant contribution to improving the socio-economic conditions in the region.”

The project has a total investment of 818 billion VND, with 282 billion VND (equivalent to 10.047 million euros) coming from non-refundable ODA funding by the Dutch government and 536 billion VND from the provincial counterpart fund, making up 65.5% of the total financing. The Phu My wastewater treatment plant is powered by Royal HaskoningDHV's state-of-the-art Carrousel® technology, designed to have a processing capacity of 30,000 cubic metres per day.
