Aurecon in a joint venture with KBR, has been named as preferred for the provision of Client Organisation Partner (COP) and Front-End Engineering Design/Owner’s Engineer (FEED/OE) services to support the management of SA Water’s capital plan program, forecast to be ~$1.2 billion dollars.
Aurecon in a 50/50 joint venture with KBR will support SA Water’s approach to delivering its Regulatory Business Period 2020 (RPB20) capital works projects in South Australia; one of the largest government contracts for project and program management services in the state.
Together with KBR, Aurecon will provide program and project management, procurement support, engineering and construction management services as part of an integrated management team with SA Water.
Aurecon’s Global Head of Water Kevin Werksman said this will be a true partnership and a fully integrated offering that will deliver real value for SA Water and its customers.
“With our partner KBR, we are bringing the whole of Aurecon to support SA Water in imagining and delivering better water services and outcomes for its customers across the whole of South Australia,” Mr Werksman said.
“With COP and FEED/OE services extending across the asset lifecycle, including engineering, planning, program management and procurement support services, our skills will support SA Water to deliver on its strategic program objectives.”
SA Water is an internationally recognised water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. It delivers water and wastewater services to almost 1.7 million people across the state.
Wayne Nolan, Vice President, Infrastructure Services Australia at KBR said he was looking forward to working with Aurecon to help SA Water leave a legacy for customers and the South Australian community.
“We are fully committed to the successful delivery of SA Water’s RPB20. KBR has supported SA Water for over 30 years and since 2011 we have shared in SA Water’s journey to excellence in program management. We will bring together our local expertise in the water market sector, and best practice experience from similar programs of works elsewhere in the world to deliver these services," Mr Nolan said.
The SA Water contract is the second major long-term water partnership appointment for Aurecon in the past six months with the business recently appointed Sydney Water’s Planning Partner for the next 10 years.
