On Thursday, Eng. Khaled Alqureshi, CEO of Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), participated in the high-profile "Utilities CEO Roundtable" session, themed "Resilient, Sustainability, and Transitioning to a Net Zero Future." This session saw the attendance of more than 90 executives, discussing pivotal issues in the water sector. Alqureshi highlighted SWPC’s initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions. He emphasized the company's approach of tendering projects that leverage environmentally friendly technologies, enforcing an energy consumption cap, and promoting the use of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic (PV) systems and biogas.
Throughout the event, Eng. Khaled Alqureshi also had the opportunity to meet up with numerous EPC contractors who are eager to participate in SWPC’s future water projects.
The SWPC exhibition booth also attracted significant attention from international representatives, showcasing the company's extensive project portfolio and achievements. Visitors expressed interest in the projects executed through public-private partnerships (PPP), a testament to SWPC's innovative approach and successful implementation of sustainable water solutions.
SWPC's participation in SIWW 2024 underscores its commitment to international collaboration and sustainable development. Responding to an invitation from PUB, SWPC utilized the platform to highlight its ongoing and upcoming projects, reflecting its role as a key player in procuring PPP water infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The company not only oversees the procurement of these projects but also serves as the offtaker for all water delivered by the private and public sectors, in addition to providing PPP transaction advisory services.
