Alejandro Beivide is the new Director of Digital Transformation and Control Systems at ACCIONA, a new position that will help with the digital transformation of the company and the people in order to achieve the dynamism and competitiveness of an Industry 4.0 company.

Beivide is an Industrial Engineer specialised in Automation and Electronics, and his career in ACCIONA spans more than 15 years, including several positions as desalination engineer and in the Department of Automation and Control, which he led for 5 years until November 2019, when he was appointed Director of Digital Transformation and Control Systems.

The dynamics involve new opportunities to explore, with everything that technology can offer to improve our working performance and our competitiveness. This is, without a doubt, the biggest challenge in my professional career, because there are many unknowns. This detail is what makes it most attractive to me. Working based on activities I have yet to discover, using technologies that will emerge, and working on needs and solutions that we will uncover every day in each corner of the company. That is the most motivating part. We will all be working on challenges, and on the basis that everything is to be discovered. Let us not set any limits, only goals".

As the new Director of Digital Transformation and Control Systems, Alejandro Beivide is clear about the objective: "First of all, develop a digital strategy that encompasses and contemplates all aspects involved in the digital transformation. We want to involve the entire company in the change: be more competitive, focus on what really adds value to the company, and automate and digitalise the rest. Optimise our operations, identifying those that are susceptible to undergo a digital transformation. At the same time, promote a collaborative working culture, continuous operations, value flow; all of it supported by data and information management platforms. At the same time, we will encourage digital education to generate improved versions of ourselves.

In the era of Industry 4.0 we have to draw all the potential value from technology. It should be our catalyst to reach new goals and explore new business models. There are no longer any limits to the change dynamics when it comes to thinking out of the box. Artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data...they are already part of our professional lives and we have to unleash their business potential.
