Sabesp, Brazil’s water and wastewater management company serving the state of Sao Paulo, elected André Salcedo Teixeira Mendes as the new CEO of the mixed capital firm, replacing Benedito Pinto Ferreira Braga Junior, reports Finance News.
Salcedo was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of local insurance company Akad Seguros. Previously, from 2019 to 2021, he served as Executive Director of New Businesses at water company Iguá Saneamento and was an independent consultant for the Climate Bonds Initiative from 2020 until 2021. He also worked between 2003 and 2029 at BNDES where he held several positions.
Sabesp highlights that Salcedo has extensive experience in the capital markets area, with expertise in infrastructure financing, public-private partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and structuring of new businesses.
