Atlas-SSI, a North American provider of water management solutions, has announced the acquisition of Walz & Krenzer, Inc. (WK), a company specializing in custom-engineered watertight closures, doors, hatches, and flood protection systems.
The transaction will enhance Atlas-SSI’s portfolio of water management and infrastructure protection solutions while expanding its capabilities in flood protection, water control, and applications for mission-critical facilities. The addition of WK's engineered products complements the company's existing offerings for municipal, industrial, utility, commercial, and infrastructure customers.
Walz & Krenzer designs and manufactures watertight and airtight doors, hatches, flood barriers, and specialty closures for environments where reliability and protection are essential. Its products are used across a range of sectors, including water and wastewater facilities, tunnels, dams, industrial plants, power generation, maritime applications, commercial buildings, and other critical infrastructure.
Atlas-SSI said it plans to integrate WK's engineering expertise and product range into its existing portfolio, which includes screens, gates, barriers, wastewater treatment equipment, flood protection systems, and field services. The company stated that the acquisition will support its ability to provide integrated solutions aimed at improving water management, reducing operational risks, protecting infrastructure, and strengthening long-term resilience.
As part of the agreement, current owners Ben Rising and Tom Themel will remain in their roles as President and Vice President of Walz & Krenzer, respectively.
