Carollo Engineers has announced the appointment of Farhan Shaikh as vice president and senior strategic advisor for digital transformation and solutions, while also retaining water policy specialist Alan Roberson as a consultant focused on regulatory and advocacy matters.
The company said the additions are intended to reinforce its support for utilities facing growing demands to modernize infrastructure and adapt to evolving federal drinking water regulations.
Based in Atlanta, Shaikh brings nearly three decades of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction sector. In his new role, he will advise utilities on digital readiness assessments, technology selection and implementation strategies, working alongside Carollo’s digital water teams to advance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Before joining Carollo, Shaikh served as vice president and data and digital sales director at Jacobs, where he oversaw strategy for digital solutions across the company’s North American infrastructure business.

Meanwhile, Washington, D.C.-based Roberson will support utilities in preparing for future regulatory requirements, including emerging contaminants and drinking water quality standards. His responsibilities will also include representing clients in discussions with federal and state agencies and advising on compliance strategies.
Roberson previously served as executive director of the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators and spent 25 years with the Washington office of the American Water Works Association. He has more than 34 years of experience in drinking water policy and federal regulatory development.
