Dubai extends bid deadlines for Hassyan SWRO Phase 2 water transmission pipelines

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has extended the bid submission deadlines for two water transmission pipeline packages connected to Phase 2 of the Hassyan Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant.

The tenders cover the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of glass-reinforced epoxy (GRE) pipelines and related infrastructure for the Hassyan SWRO Phase 2 network.

For the first package, launched on 11 December 2025, the deadline has been moved from 15 January 2026 to 2 June 2026. Tenderers are required to submit a bond of 9.6 million UAE dirhams ($2.6 million). The second package, opened on 22 January 2026, now has a submission deadline of 4 June 2026, extended from 26 February 2026, with a bond of 17.9 million AED ($4.9 million).

DEWA reported in January 2026 that construction of the 180 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) Phase 1 of the Hassyan SWRO Independent Water Project was 90 per cent complete. Phase 2 is expected to add 60 MIGD, bringing the plant’s total desalination capacity to 240 MIGD.
