OPSWAT, a cybersecurity company focused on critical infrastructure, and Emerson, a leader in automation technology, have announced a global reseller agreement aimed at bringing OPSWAT’s cybersecurity solutions to Emerson’s power and water industry customers. The first project under this agreement will integrate OPSWAT’s patch management technology into Emerson's Ovation™ Automation Platform.
The integration will incorporate OPSWAT’s MetaDefender Endpoint™ and My OPSWAT™ Central Management On-Premises into the Ovation Platform, strengthening security with purpose-built tools designed for operational technology (OT). These additions are part of Emerson’s broader cybersecurity suite for power and water industries.
Robert Yeager, President of Emerson’s power and water solutions division, emphasized the need for cybersecurity solutions tailored for operational technology, as opposed to IT-based solutions. He noted that the collaboration with OPSWAT aims to offer modern, OT-specific patch management solutions to secure critical infrastructure and ensure reliable operations.
As the power generation and water utility sectors face growing cyber threats and regulatory demands, OPSWAT’s patch management solution seeks to address these challenges. It provides a solution for both modern and legacy systems, helping mitigate the risks associated with cyberattacks, including ransomware and state-sponsored threats targeting these industries.
Emerson’s Ovation Automation Platform, already in use at over 800 sites globally, will now benefit from enhanced cybersecurity technologies tailored to critical industries. This partnership builds on the existing DeltaV™ Alliance agreement between OPSWAT and Emerson, which focuses on OPSWAT’s MetaDefender Kiosk™ and MetaDefender Unidirectional Security Gateway™ for Emerson's DeltaV Automation Platform.
