Glas Cymru reinforces governance with two senior appointments

Glas Cymru, the parent company of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, has announced the appointment of Mick Jeavons as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), alongside the addition of David Staziker to its Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Jeavons, who has served as Interim CFO since May 2025, will now take on the permanent role and join the Board. His responsibilities will include oversight of finance, business performance, regulation, procurement and digital systems. Before joining Welsh Water, he held several senior financial leadership positions, most recently serving as Group CFO at International Distribution Services PLC.

Staziker joins the Board from the Development Bank of Wales, where he is Chief Financial Officer and leads the organisation’s finance and ICT functions. Since joining the bank in 2002, he has held a range of senior positions, including roles in investment, before becoming CFO in 2018. His previous experience also includes positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Gambit Corporate Finance.

Commenting on the appointments, Glas Cymru Chair Jane Hanson CBE said: “We are delighted to confirm Mick’s appointment to our Board as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. He brings a wealth of financial leadership experience and a strong track record of supporting long-term investment and transformation programmes.”

Regarding Staziker’s appointment, Hanson added: “I am also pleased to welcome David Staziker to the Board as a Non-Executive Director. His extensive financial, investment and governance experience, together with his deep understanding of the Welsh business landscape, will be a valuable addition as we continue to deliver for customers and communities across Wales.”

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Chief Executive Roch Cheroux highlighted that Jeavons takes on the role as the company advances a major investment programme aimed at improving customer service, environmental performance and long-term resilience.

Both appointments take effect immediately and will be submitted for election by Glas Cymru Members at the company’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.
