Melbourne Water has finalised its largest connected metering project, completing the rollout of real-time telemetry across surface water diversion meters in its waterways, including the Yarra and lower Maribyrnong catchments.
The upgrade covers more than 1,300 licence holders who draw water from Melbourne Water's river network. Water use across these waterways can now be monitored accurately and continuously, enabling more consistent compliance oversight and giving licence holders direct, real-time visibility of their own consumption data.
The program was delivered in partnership with Sage Automation and Kallipr, which provided metering and telemetry expertise throughout the rollout.

"Real-time monitoring gives our customers and us a clearer, more accurate picture of water use across the region. That's good for compliance, good for planning, and good for trust."
