Saudi water company Miahona has signed a Public-Private Partnership Agreement (PPPA) with Uzsuvtaminot, Uzbekistan's national water utility, for the enhancement, operation and maintenance of the Zomin Water Treatment Plant in the Jizzakh region.
The agreement covers 25 years of operation and maintenance services alongside enhancement works at the existing facility, which has a design treatment capacity of 50,000 cubic metres per day. The total contract value is estimated at approximately USD 105 million (SAR 395 million).
The deal follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Miahona, Uzsuvtaminot and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade in June 2025.
The agreement is not yet in force. Its entry into effect is subject to the issuance of a project-related governmental decree under Uzbek legislation, and the final contract value will be confirmed at that point. Miahona expects operations to commence in Q1 2027, at which point the company anticipates a positive financial impact on its results.
Miahona described the deal as supporting its initial positioning in the Uzbek water sector and securing long-term contractual revenues. The company added that it continues to work on the remaining project pipeline outlined in its Development Agreement with Uzbekistan and will announce further material developments in due course.
